Somehow after reading El-Erian’s “When Markets Collide,” I became convinced that what lied ahead was an intensely volatile period of extreme inflationary waves matches with extreme deflationary waves.

Some of the broadest reaching secular trends I can wrap my eyes around:

• distribution of wealth and lifestyle out of U.S. and European countries into emerging markets
• the rise of the BRIC countries in ways beyond wealth and lifestyle
• increase in personal savings in the United States
• increase in Government spending…. (I’m digressing)

So, how can this happen…. I’m not just talking about roller-coasting rides…. but, I’m also referring to synergistic dove-tailing of cycles in ways that they didn’t used to synergistically dovetail.  Specifically, as BRICs come “on-line”… commodities and other limited in supply, required by emerging markets, marketplaces will explode… at the same time, occasionally, bubbles and adjustments will occur, pulling down equities or stabilizing the dollar and the changes will be drastic and universal.  All I can right now is proceed with caution and… there are awesome opportunities ahead.
